A market gap happens when the price of an asset moves from one level to another without trading at the prices in between.
This often occurs when the market reopens after being closed or after major news or events cause a sudden price move.
Because of this, orders such as Stop Loss or Stop orders may be executed at the next available market price rather than the exact price you selected.
